We are located in west Maple Ridge, next to Westview Park.We offer all the amenities of a large scale center in a small group environment. Our bright, cheerful, child centered environment offer children a safe and fun place to grow and learn. The classroom is divided into various "learning centers" to provide the maximum educational experience. The program is designed to meet the developmental needs of all children who attend. We offer a wide curriculum of activities from phonics, math and science, to art, music and movement and computer activities. Specially made educational games for phonics, math and science enhance the program to engage the child's interest and build a love of learning. Qualifications: Aside from proudly raising my own daughter, a shortage of quality childcare and my years of experience in the childcare field have prompted me to open The Learning Corner. With training in Early Childhood Education, Special Needs Education and Childsafe First Aid, I am dedicated to providing a caring, safe learning environment for your child. I continue to attend workshops to stay up to date on the latest trends in the childcare field and the center is registered with the childcare resourse and referral program. Philosophy: At The Learning Corner we understand that each child is a unique individual. We recognize that children's behaviour reflects their level of development and respect family and cultural beliefs. We provide an environment that promotes positive behaviour. We offer a consistent approach to guidance, using reminders and redirection. We offer children choices to help them build a sense of independence. We believe that children learn through play and will provide a program that is engaging and fun in an atmosphere that is safe and friendly.
